Marc Jacobs Bans Celebrities From NYC Fall Fashion Show

Marc Jacobs’ New York Fall Fashion Week Show will be a Celeb-Free Zone.

“We’re not going to have celebrities. Last season we had two celebrities that showed up. One because Lady Gaga was doing our after-party, and she didn’t even make it to her seat because we started the show before she got there. And one was Madonna. She came backstage, and I was like, ‘What do you do with her now?’’ Marc Duffy — business partner of designer and Louis Vuitton Creative Director Marc Jacobs — told Style.com this week.

“Because it’s not like she was invited. She just called and said she was coming, and we weren’t holding the show for her. She just came and that was it. There’s certain things I can’t control, but we used to have all the celebrities and people there, and I think that at that moment in time that’s what people loved. It generated so much press and at a certain point it was like, ‘Did anybody actually watch the show?’”

‘Miami Biche’ in Elle France May 2010 is Red Hot for Summer

Model Anne Vyalitsyna turns up the heat in her latest spread inside Elle France May 2010. The shoot entitled ‘Miami Biche’ shot by photographer Alex Cayley features the laid-back beach bum in a metallic monokini by Chanel, rainbow-colored platform sandals and a variety of accessories from visors to bangles.

Looks like summer lovin’ is all about colors, layers and the tiniest bikinis you can get your hands on. Check out ‘Miami Biche’ above and keep clicking for more from.

The Thigh’s the Limit

With colder weather upon us, store windows are now adorned with boots, their studs and zippers forcing us to confront the harsh reality of winter. Tender hearts, have no fear. There is something romantic about Chloé’s take on the aggressive over-the-knee boots for fall. The flat style in soft calf leather wraps up the leg, troubadour-style; if it’s a heel you’re after, the suede version has a cool 1970s feel. They’re $1,095 and $1,346, respectively,

Give Him the Boot

As far as boots go, the Greenwich is pretty strapping. Built by the Massachusetts-based cobbler Alden exclusively for Leffot, a stylish downtown men’s shoe store, the boot’s upper is fashioned from oiled nubuck and its flexible soles are completely waterproof. Although inspired by the “spirit of Greenwich Village hipsters and bohemians,” they cost a decidedly unbohemian $475 a pair.

I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that Kristin Cavallari called the paps for these pics

Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course. The majority of tabloid-fodder celebs have the paparazzi on speed dial to let them know when they’ll be shopping, going to Nobu or merely walking down Robertson Boulevard. Staying in the tabloids is part of their livelihood, and they wouldn’t be doing it if we didn’t eat it up.

These pictures of Kristin Cavallari and her Louis Vuitton Speedy look almost posed, so it’s not exactly rocket science to figure out that the photographers were indeed invited guests. Plus, she was leaving a hair appointment when these photos were snapped – what better time to have your photo taken, particularly if you know it’s likely to end up blogs just like this one? I always make sure to go out to dinner or drinks whenever I have my hair done, so I can hardly fault her for doing the celebreality version of that to celebrate her new lowlights.

I would like to know how to make my skin look like Nicole Scherzinger’s

We’re all used to see stars’ skin Photoshopped to perfection in magazines or on promotional materials for their various projects, but it’s not often that I see an unretouched photo of a star on the red carpet and go into a jealous rage about how lovely and healthy her skin looks. Cue these photos of former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger, please.

I know she’s probably been all lotioned up so that she looks dewy and glowy, but even when I lotion myself up I don’t look that healthy. And it’s not just her face – her entire upper body looks pretty flawless in her black Marchesa cocktail dress at this post-Emmys party. Thankfully, we know that she’s still a mortal like us because it appears as though her Christian Louboutin D’Orsay Peep-toes are seriously squishing her feet.

Kate Beckinsale walks the red carpet in Versace

If I could pick any one person to look like when I’m 37, it would be Kate Beckinsale. For me, it’s hard to believe that she’s in her late 30s – I would have been more likely to guess 32 or 33, just based on her appearance. Also, she has the most enviously beautiful hair in Hollywood (although we don’t see much of it in these pictures), and what makes me even more jealous is that it appears to be all hers.

Anyway, on to the outfit. Kate picked a mod-inspired white Versace cocktail dress to wear to the premiere of her new movie Going the Distance, and she accentuated the dress’s 60s reference with a flipped ponytail and a bit of height at the front part of her ‘do. I wish she would have accessorized a little more creatively – her black shoes are serviceable but boring, as is her black Armani clutch. She almost always looks fantastic, but her look here is merely good.

High Fashion Dominates 'America's Next Top Model' Cycle 15

ver mile-high Bellinis and crisp bacon, model-turned-mogul Tyra Banks and Mr. Fashion himself, Andre Leon Talley, told a roomful of journalists why 'America's Next Top Model' was still intriguing after 15 go-rounds.

This season, the CW staple is all about high fashion, with top couture photographers a la Patrick DeMarchelier and designers like Diane Von Furnstenberg, Zac Posen and Roberto Cavalli helping to judge 14 aspiring models competing for a spread in Italian Vogue and a six-figure endorsement deal.

"Tyra really raised the bar this year," said Talley, drenched in black – leather trench coat, polo, shorts and driving shoes (Prada, Polo, Juicy Couture, Tods). Banks, whose Bankable Productions pulled in more than $30 million in 2009, is a producer of the show, which has definite aspirations this season.

"It's very important the core be high fashion," explains Banks, also donning black in a fitted dress, black pumps and slick chignon. "So I see her Paris, I see her in Milan, I see [the winner] in Italian magazines and French magazines and British magazines."

The duo explained that the relationship with Italian Vogue started about two years ago when the all-black Italian Vogue hit stands in summer of 2008. "It was all about black models, and Tyra had been photographed by Steven Meisel. And she and Franca [Sozzani] got together and started this working relationship and friendship," relayed Talley.

Of Vogue Italia editor Franca Sozzani, Banks says, "She really wanted to take Vogue Italia to the American audience and she felt like she had a strong connection." That connection may be green – the all-black Vogue sold like fire in the United States.

Banks, who ended her talk show last year, told us that she is signed to IMG models, the same agency that is giving the Cycle 15 winner a one-year modeling contract.

"I recently signed with IMG – not as a model – but to do things with my company, Bankable, to connect with certain sponsors," Banks explains. She also said she was working on a work of fiction, called 'Modelland,' about a school where one has to be "perfect to get in," but four friends somehow buck the trend and still manage to be successful.

"It pushes my message of expanding the definition of beauty," says Banks.

Beyonce is a bit over-patterned while carrying Roberto Cavalli

because looking at all of the patterns Beyonce was wearing while recently on vacation with husband Jay-Z is making me a little cross-eyed and I fear that a fashion-related headache is in my future.

We’ll try to ignore the mess that’s happening above Beyonce’s knees, because as far as I can tell, no designer is claiming that loud mishmash of patterns and colors, and instead we’ll focus on the bag. From what I can find, it’s by Roberto Cavalli, which seems about right when you consider the animal print motif. It could be Dolce & Gabbana, of course, but the bag was a Spring/Summer 2010 piece, and although I remember seeing it at online retailers a while back, I can’t remember exactly who made it and all memory of it has been scrubbed from online retailers. Now if only I could scrub the memory of Beyonce’s outfit from my brain…
